2026 Peace and Goodwill Message

This year, the Urdd’s Message of Peace and Goodwill shines a spotlight on minority languages. The aim is to help people across the world learn about these languages and to encourage everyone to value, learn, and use them. By doing this, the message also opens up an important conversation about how language shapes our empathy, our sense of equality, and the way we understand the world.

There are more than 7,000 languages spoken globally, but experts warn that around half could disappear by the end of this century. According to the UNESCO classification, the Welsh language is classified as vulnerable therefore the issue is very close to our community. It reminds us how important it is to protect and celebrate minority languages now, before they are lost Forever.

Our Criw Cymraeg have been busy creating a display board at school, displaying this year's peace and goodwill message as well as making dove artworks to spread the message across the school.
