2026 – Outstanding achievements as QEH students celebrate another year of success
Queen Elizabeth High School is delighted to celebrate another year of excellent A Level results, with students achieving outstanding outcomes across a wide range of subjects and progressing to ambitious next steps in higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
Reflecting our school motto, "Teulu QEH Family: Caring, Learning, Leading," our students have once again demonstrated the values that define our school community. Their achievements are the result of hard work, determination and a commitment to learning, supported by dedicated staff and families. We are proud that our learners have not only achieved excellent academic outcomes but have also developed the confidence, resilience and leadership skills that will enable them to thrive in their future pathways. As a school community, we continue to work together to ensure every student is supported to reach their full potential.
As always, our focus remains on developing individual potential and supporting every learner to achieve their very best. We are therefore delighted to report another excellent set of outcomes:
● 31% of grades awarded were A*-A
● 79% of grades awarded were A*-C
● 97% of grades awarded were A*-E
These results represent continued success for our Sixth Form and highlight the dedication shown by students throughout their studies. We are particularly proud of the positive destinations secured by our learners, with many progressing to universities across the UK, higher and degree apprenticeships, and a range of exciting career pathways.
Our staff are immensely proud of this year group and the maturity, commitment and perseverance they have shown throughout their time at QEH. They have embraced every opportunity available to them and have made a significant contribution to school life.
We would like to thank all parents, carers and members of our community for their continued encouragement and support. Their role in helping our students achieve these outcomes cannot be underestimated.

Dave Williams, Headteacher, commented:

These excellent results are a reflection of the hard work, determination and resilience shown by our learners throughout their studies. Miss Bethan Jones, Assistant Headteacher and Key Stage 5 Lead, commented:
"It has been a privilege to support this year group throughout their Sixth Form journey. Their dedication and commitment have been outstanding, and it is wonderful to see their efforts rewarded today. We are delighted with their achievements and look forward to hearing about their future successes as they move on to university, apprenticeships and employment."
Head Girl, Caitlyn Jones, said, “My journey in QE has grown my confidence, communication skills and many transferable skills I will take forward into university. I’m excited to go to Cardiff University in September to do Occupational Therapy. Carrying everlasting memories of the support, kindness and unwavering love I have always received from QEHS. This fantastic school lives by the ethos that everybody matters, and everyone has the opportunity to make a difference. Thank you Queen Elizabeth High School for everything.”
Head Boy, Liam Upton-Boorman said, “ I was honoured with the opportunity of being head boy of this wonderful school. Without the incredible support of the teachers and pastoral staff in QE I wouldn’t be leaving this day with a smile on my face and a confirmed university place at Manchester Metropolitan University to study Sports and Exercise Science . The staff here in Queen Elizabeth high school not just helped me to get to University but have helped me develop my confidence and encouraged my interest in sport, thank you.
