Welsh Cup Win vs Ysgol Strade

Congratulations to the year 7 football who have progressed through to the Quarterfinals of the Welsh Schools Cup after beating Ysgol Strade 5-4 on penalties. QE took the lead twice, but Strade managed to equalise on both occasions in a very tight game. The final score ended 2-2 with two great goals from Sam and Miles. Archie stepped up to secure the winning sudden death penalty. QE will play away in the Quarterfinals to either Bro Pedr or Ysgol Caereinion.
Well done boys.

QEHS U13 Football vs Ysgol Bro Dur

QEHS U13 Football squad played in the National round (last 16) of the School's cup yesterday against Ysgol Bro Dur. Lowri put QEHS one goal up after 9 minutes and led going in to half time. Ysgol Bro Dur came out after half time with focus and created scoring chances that were defended well by the QE defence and Phoebe in goal. Ysgol Bro Dur persisted their attack and were rewarded with a goal from a confident strike.

QEHS launched several attacks in the last 8 minutes and showed resilience in trying to get the winning goal, however the final whistle resulted in a penalty shoot-out.

Final score was 3-2 to Bro Dur and we wish them every success in the quarter finals.

The game flowed from end to end with an excellent display of football skills by both teams. Diolch for the support from parents. Thank you to Alan Jenkins for refereeing, Mr Chris Thomas for coaching and to Carmarthen town for hosting what was an excellent and competitive match.

Diolch Ysgol Bro Dur am deithio atom.

Even though the QEHS girls are disappointed to be out of the cup, QE are extremely proud of you all in getting this far.
